Course Introduction
Available as a blended learning approach (one day face-face practical training day followed by self-paced online learning and assessments). This Full 12 hour course meets the EYFS and Ofsted Requirements and is designed for learners who wish to develop skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid to enable them to provide care and manage life-threatening conditions, illness and injuries in early years settings. It offers the opportunity for those involved in early years settings to provide quality and effective first aid care. This is achieved through an understanding of the general duties, responsibilities and treatment principles of first aid.

What are the Entry Requirements?
There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of level two in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
The qualification is suitable for learners of 14 years of age and above.
How long does it take?
This course can be delivered as a one-day practical training day followed by self-paced, online learning and assessments.
It is valid for three years, after which learners will need to repeat the qualification, however it is recommended that learners refresh their knowledge annually. (Maybird Training provide this free of charge)
Total Qualification Time for this qualification is 15 hours.
Guided Learning Hours for this qualification is 12 hours.
How Will I Be Assessed?
All learning outcomes which assess knowledge and understanding (usually beginning with ‘Understand’) may be assessed through, for example, internally set and marked written assignments, tasks, records of oral or written questions, work books or other portfolio evidence,
Achievement of the qualification includes demonstration of practical skills and confirmation of workplace competence (usually learning outcomes beginning with ‘Be able to’). Portfolio evidence must include observation of learner performance in real work situations. Details of specific requirements and where simulation is /is not permitted is included in the unit specifications.
Will I Need To Attend Classes?
Yes, learners are required to attend one all-day practical workshop (start and end times negotiable)
